This is a lovely area and there are hidden gems of countryside to be discovered within a short walking distance of every home. As many footpath signs have disappeared it is advisable to always use and follow carefully the Ordnance Survey Map Explorer 154. Because of the many springs and streams in this area the best footwear, to ensure dry feet, is often Wellington boots.

Please enjoy your walking and always keep your dog on a lead and please give all farm animals a wide berth, particularly cows with calves. Groups of young cattle can be frisky but are usually harmless provided you do not run and get them over-excited. Please ensure you follow the countryside code and close all previously closed gates carefully after you. North Somerset Council is the body charged with the statutory duty of ensuring all Public Rights of Way are signposted, way marked and useable. So if you find any problems with the footpath furniture please send details to the Rights of Way Team at The Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1AE. Or via e-mail to StreetsAndOpenSpaces@n-somerset.gov.uk Jim Webster
